TLALOCA FORCE
Mexicans united for the preservation of water in our towns
What is Tlaloca force?
Although our planet is composed mainly of water, in reality only 1% of this water is available for human consumption. On the other hand, the misuse that we have given to this valuable resource in recent times is leading us towards a shortage that urges us to take drastic measures.
.
Fortunately, nowadays there are innovative solutions based on nature that, through Phytoremediation, help us to purify the water of our territories at the same time that they collaborate with the preservation of the correct biodiversity of aquatic ecosystems.
.
Fuerza Tlaloca is a social action and innovation collective formed within Ecopil AC that seeks to implement these nature-based solutions in the largest possible number of locations in our country to promote a responsible use of our water resources as well as to clean water from our territory.
What do we do at Fuerza Tlaloca?
A) An Eco-Dam in El Cerro de la Mesa
With the backing of Ecopil's 9-year environmental trajectory and its allies such as Cplantae and Cosechando Natural, we are developing an eco-dam for the first Ecopil Eco-network. With this we want to contribute to create a scalable model of Eco-networks that we can replicate around the entire country to absorb CO2 from the atmosphere and detonate local economies in a sustainable way without damaging our hydrological resources.
.
The Eco-dam that we want to build will work through rainwater harvesting and water cleaning through a phytoremediation process using floating islands with specific plants for this purpose.
.
At Ecopil we have named these floating islands as Tlalocanes and we want them to be the spearhead of our fight for the cleanliness of the waters in our territory. If you want more information on how a Tlalocan is made and how they work you can visit this link.
How can I collaborate?
You can support the cause by donating or acquiring products from our store, the proceeds collected from the sale of these products will go directly to the development and implementation of Tlalocanes in Cerro de la Mesa to later expand its installation in various parts of the republic.
